Michael Jackson turns 50

On August 29, the famous king of pop turned 50 years old. In an interview with ABC he said he planned to spend his birthday with his children. He said the best times of his life was when he recorded his albums “Thriller” and “Off the Wall.” The public’s response to those albums brought happiness to him and he says he’s looking forward to doing a lot of great things.

Blogger Kevin Cogill was arrested

Kevin Cogill, a music blogger at Antiquiet got arrested as he posted leaked Guns N’ Roses tracks. He now faces up to 3 years in prison and $250,000 in fines. He did not leak the songs though, but merely uploaded them. Slash, the former Guns N’ Roses lead guitarist said he hoped that Cogill rots in jail. He felt that such leaks hurt sales.

Gustav, a Category 5 storm

Gustav hit Cuba on Saturday and could reach the U.S. Gulf Coast on Monday. FEMA’s chief said that the storm was becoming stronger thus it could escalate to a Category 5 storm which has winds greater than 155 mph by Sunday. This is quite dreadful for residents who might be affected by this.

Casual games on Xbox Live’s Arcade

There are many casual games on Xbox Live’s Arcade service. As for the price, it’s usually less than a typical retail game. Braid is a great example, your character has to navigate platforms and solve puzzles. Braid for instance costs only $15 at the moment. There’s a lot more good games on their way so be on the look out for them.

Ancient towns in the Amazon

The dense forests of the western Amazon show evidence of ancient urban settlements. These settlements were once large and complex enough to be considered what we deem today to be urban. From about 1250 to 1650 the European colonists and their illnesses killed most of the people who resided in the largest settlements. These settlements consist of walled towns and small villages.

Lindsay Lohan blogs about her father

Lohan called her father a public embarrassment on her MySpace blog. She was had conflicts with her father for years. She believes that her father is addicted to fame and if he actually cared for her, he’d respect her wishes. Her father said all he wants for his daughter is a good and healthy relationship. Apparently she doesn’t think so.

Dead Sea Scrolls Online

In Jerusalem Dead Sea Scrolls are going digital after being around for more than 2,000 years ago. Israel Antiquities Authority plan to make digital versions of every ancient document in their posession in the upcoming years. They eventually plan to post them online so everyone can see them. Such works include the oldest written record of the Bible’s Old Testament.
